I’m fascinated by sufi poetry, at least the ones I’ve seen of Attar and Rumi. They portray a very mystical aspect of the love relationship man has with God, using interesting stories and the Persian style of poetry.
The above photo is of the cover page of Attar’s "The Conference of the Birds", but written in Amelia’s handwriting is a poem by Rumi that I particularly like. Here’s a transcript:
God has allowed some magical reversal to occur,
so that you see the scorpion pit as an object of desire,
and all the beautiful expanse around it,
as dangerous and swarming with snakes.This is how strange your fear of death and emptiness is,
and how perverse the attachment to what you want.

Lessan, thanks for the transcript, FINALLY i can read what that says 😉 of course, i really like that one as well (which is why i wrote it down i guess). We should read some Rumi together sometime, I love it, and Attar as well.
